WITIN targets 20,000 girls in 400 local secondary schools, face-to-face across Nigeria through our Girls in ICT and STEM outreaches; themed “Preparing leaders in tech”
Our aim is to equip and prepare girls for a future defined by technology, as girls in Africa face the danger of exclusion and vulnerability to this disruptive future. We would have workshops, hackathons and career fairs; while role models would have the opportunity to share their experiences and tech journeys with girls. We intend to cover 20 states(especially in in the North) across all geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
For long term impact we are giving every single girl a special STEM COMPENDIUM which we hope to publish once in 6 years, then follow-up and mentor girls though our teachers.ng and role models network even after high school. WITIN works closely with states ministries of education in Nigeria.
The compendium is a first of its kind, aimed at equipping and inspiring African Girls as leaders in tech, especially those in schools located in underserved and remote communities in Nigeria who do not have full access to new media.
